El Programa de Think Tanks y Sociedad Civil de la Universidad de Pensilvania ha publicado su tradicional ranking global de think tanks. Los resultados de este estudio vuelven a situar a The Brookings Institution como la organización de mayor influencia en todo el mundo, seguida del Instituto Francés de Relaciones Internacionales (IFRI) y el Carnegie Endowment for Intenational Peace.
España sitúa a tres organizaciones entre las 100 más influyentes del mundo sin contar con Estados Unidos. Son, por este orden, el Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB), en el puesto 25; el Real Instituto Elcano, en el 38; y la Fundación para el Análisis y los Estudios Sociales (FAES), que ocupa el puesto 94.
